The Story Behind Clarity Conversations

Over the past several months, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what people need in seasons of change, transition, or uncertainty. Not another place to be told what they should do or who they should become, but a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with themselves.

That idea became the foundation for Clarity Conversations.

When I first started imagining this experience, I knew I wanted it to feel different. I didn’t want it to be another networking event where people exchange information but leave without meaningful connection. I didn’t want it to be a workshop focused on adding more things to accomplish. I wanted to create space for something we don’t always make enough room for: honest reflection, meaningful conversation, and the opportunity to listen to ourselves and others.

The process of designing the evening has been one of my favorite parts. I’ve thought carefully about how people enter the space, how we create comfort for those who may not know anyone when they arrive, and how we build an experience where people feel welcomed and supported.

Without giving away all of the details, I wanted to share a bit more about the flow of the event for those that are seeking a bit more than I’ve shared so far.

We’ll begin by creating space to arrive and settle in before jumping into conversation. I believe there is something powerful about taking a moment to transition out of our busy lives and into a space where we can truly be present.

One of the first reflections we’ll explore is what we’re carrying. This is something I’m especially looking forward to because I know how meaningful it can be to recognize that we are not alone in the questions, changes, and transitions we experience. While everyone’s story is unique, there is often connection in realizing how much we have in common.

An important part of creating this experience was making sure people feel both welcomed and safe. I wanted to create a space where people could be honest without feeling pressure to share more than they’re comfortable sharing. There will be opportunities for reflection and connection, including an anonymous reflection that allows people to share what’s on their mind or heart without needing to put their name to it. Everyone gets to participate in the way that feels right for them.

The conversation portion of the evening is designed to encourage listening and perspective. I believe we learn so much when we create space for others to share their experiences without the pressure to fix, advise, or solve. Sometimes the greatest gift we can offer one another is simply being present.

We’ll close with reflection and intention setting, creating space to consider what we may be ready to release and what small step we want to take moving forward.

One of the things I’ve loved most about creating this experience is recognizing that the details matter. From the reflection cards to the guest book that will capture the “voices in the room,” every element has been chosen with intention to help people feel welcomed, seen, and connected.

As I prepare for the first Clarity Conversation, I feel a mix of excitement and gratitude. Creating something new always comes with uncertainty, but it also comes with the opportunity to bring something meaningful into the world.

I’m looking forward to the conversations that will happen, the stories that will be shared, and the moments of clarity that can emerge when we give ourselves permission to slow down and reflect.
